There seem to be two referrals to this Spanish producer: German techno – classic and contemporary – and dark industrial sounds. Based on these, Rubeck has fashioned a cold album regarding textures that becomes addictive if you allow yourself to be swept away. While echoing Miss Kittin (Zeitgeist), Nitzer Ebb (People pickers), Kraftwerk (Sisters) or Ellen Allien (Arbeit!) Rubeck plays constantly with the two feelings in the album making it sort of bipolar (actually it is divided into Side A and Side B). Maybe that’s the reason why you cannot see Rubeck’s real personality although you won’t find problems in realising his mastery in making his own all the sounds he’s been influenced by. Tracks like Arbeit! make clear Rubeck will be punishing the machines of electroheads and fashionists.
